My childcare is typically for repeat clients, yet I also enjoy working for new families. I have worked as a drama camp counselor, volunteered to watch children in my church nursery, and was a tutor at a local middle school back home. I was a personal nanny in summer 2024 and had the opportunity to travel with the family to New York City while the parent attended work meetings.
I started babysitting in 2019, but I spent my whole life taking care of the little ones since I was the older cousin of the family. I am currently a student at Florida State University studying psychology with a minor in child development. I’ve always had a passion for working with children, and I’ve been babysitting for as long as I can remember. I started professionally at 15 years old, babysitting for my mom’s friends, coworkers, neighbors, and local families in my community. Over the years, I have built lasting relationships with the families I work with. Whenever I’m in my hometown, I still babysit for some of the first families I’ve ever gotten to work with — giving me years of experience working with the same kids.

I have watched children from ages <1 to around 14 years old. I have watched them at home, in church settings, and in neighborhood settings. I do what I can to play with them and keep them entertained but also make sure to uphold the rules that were given to me by the parents. I have worked well into the night before, so that is never an issue. What is your personal philosophy for childcare? My personal philosophy for childcare is to connect with the child. I believe that a lot of babysitters just find that they can make easy money out of this, but I prefer to have fun with the kids that I babysit, so that it makes it a good experience for them. I want babysitting to always be an option for the parents because being a parent is exhausting. If the kids don't have a good time with the babysitter, then they likely won't want the parents to leave them with one again. My goal is to make sure everyone is happy and gets to do what they want or get a break that they deserve.
I've been working with children in a professional setting since I was 15, but I have generally been working with children and babysitting since 2018.
