Background: I began babysitting for a family with a 2-year-old girl when I was 14 and I definitely learned a lot from that experience! I was able to establish a wonderful relationship with their family, and I was with them for about 3 years until I was ready to go to college. During this time, I also babysat for their next-door neighbor, who also had a 2-year-old girl. I also began to work with another family in my neighborhood, who had 2 girls: one of them being a 1-year-old and the other one being 3 years old. This family taught me the importance of distributing my attention to two children at once, and ensuring that they both have a safe, comfortable environment to play in! In college, I began babysitting for kids aged 1-5 whilst their parents were in a church service. In this role, I was responsible for around 10 kids that would come regularly during church hours. Taking on this job made me learn how to truly pay attention to each one during the service, and make sure they had a safe play environment.
