Ms. Mycah

[MY-cuh]

I am unable to babysit in homes with cats or dogs, unless they’re able to be put up in another room.

Birthday: March 8th

Hometown: Charlotte, NC

Favorite Crayola color: Pink

Background: I have been working with children for years; I was also the oldest sibling growing up to 3 brothers and 1 sister! I have been a summer camp counselor and after school counselor since the age of 16. I attend Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University majoring in Social Work! I worked at the YMCA of Greater Charlotte back in my hometown, where I started as a teacher and moved up to leadership staff throughout the years. Children are my world and the social-emotional wellbeing of each child is my number one concern. I have every child's best interest at heart!

I have experience assisting autistic children with their homework in a classroom setting.

On her own, she’s cared for children as young as: 5 months old

Future plans: In the next 5 - 10 years I plan to be graduated from grad school, with my Master’s in Social Work. I will be working towards or have already started my building dedicated to children with behavioral issues. My number one goal is to raise awareness for mental health in my community. My building will allow children to find some sort of outlet that breaks them free from all judgment and stress. I also plan to start a children's clothing line dedicated to mental health.

When she’s not babysitting: During my free time I love to dance. I am apart of FAMU’s Elite Dance Squad. I eat, sleep, and breathe practice being that I'm there everyday! I love to read and listen to music. I also love to eat and sleep.

Mycah was amazing with my daughter and son. I would never have to worry about either one when they were in her care. I have also seen how other kids she works with enjoy and love her as well. I truly hate to share her (LOL), but I know she will make another family happy and proud just as I have been the past few years.

Mycah is great with children of all ages. She knows each child individually and tends to their needs as well. Great at understanding and communicating with parents about the child’s struggles and likes.
She is the best candidate for the position due to her in-depth understanding of a child’s early development skills. Whether it’s reading, writing, arts and crafts, or just learning to adapt to the other children in the class.

We had her last week and she was wonderful! She did a great job with helping redirect [our youngest] when she was clingy and was immediately very engaged with both kids. We’ll be happy to have her back!
