Background: I am a student at FSU on a Pre-Med track, earning my Interdisciplinary Science B.S. degree with a concentration of Community Patient Care. At age 13, I started becoming known as the neighborhood babysitter. I would take care of children ranging from 3 years old - 11 years old. One of the children I babysat was diagnosed with severe autism. As I got older, being a high school student taking all AICE classes, Honors classes, and AP classes, as well as being the captain of the Girl's Lacrosse Team, the families I babysat were hiring me to become tutors for their children during the school year. I regularly tutored a few fourth graders in reading and math. Entering into Florida State and going back home on some breaks, the director of a preschool reached out to me with a position as a daycare teacher. I worked primarily with the ages of 3 months old - 3 years old. Becoming a daycare teacher allowed me to build the patience and love I have for children. To this day, whenever I am home I always help out at the preschool and give my kids the biggest hugs!

I have received training on how to support children and teens with ASD from the FSU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD).

She’s cared for children as young as: 3 months old

Future plans: I plan to become a pediatrician, have multiple children of my own, and live the life I have always dreamed of.

When she’s not babysitting: I love to read, work out, socialize with friends, take part in research studies on Alzheimer's, and go to the beach!

Defining quote: "Show me your friends, and I'll show you your future." - my mother

She has been the best babysitter. Twin boys is not an easy task but she made it look like it was a piece of cake. She interacted with them, always playing with them, took care of them like they were family. One of my boys has autism and he was not an easy child but he loves Nyah. He listened to her. She was always on time and a pleasure to be around. Made my husband and I feel comfortable to leave my boys with her. We knew they were in good hands when she was with them.
