Ms. Kiley

Birthday: August 12th

Hometown: Green Cove Springs, FL

Favorite Crayola Color: Orange

Background: I am a student at FSU studying sports management. I started babysitting when I was 14 years old. I’ve worked with children as young as a few days old, and have even gone on cruises, trips to NYC and Las Vegas, and the Rocky Mountains to take care of kids while their parents had some fun! Specific responsibilities I’ve had while babysitting include meal prepping, playing outdoor games and getting exercise in for the day, reading books and singing songs, teaching developmental skills and helping out with homework, bottle feeding, putting down for naps and bed time, and have even stayed overnight for bottle feedings and rocking back to sleep. I also am very engaged and constantly creating new games and activities to steer children away from all the technology of the world if their parents are wanting that for their kids! My favorite thing to do is to go outside and play as much as possible!

I have worked with multiple moms who breastfeed, giving warm bottles to their babies and making sure they are drinking them properly within the hour. I have also helped moms with their babies latching and working in a regular feeding schedule with the moms when their babies have struggled eating. I have worked with Cloth diapers multiple times, as my first babies that I grew up babysitting for 5 years for back home wore cloth diapers.

On her own, she’s cared for children as young as: 0 days old

Future plans: After graduating FSU, I will hopefully get an internship with an NFL, MLB, NBA, or NHL organization to work in their Community Relations Department. My passions in life are caring for people and sports, so this job allows me to do both! My job would entail anything that involves the community around that organization and hopefully to bring in more fans as we reach out more!

When I’m not babysitting: I am usually working out or hanging with friends. I also love reading about sports and the natural world around us like fishing, wild life, and even dinosaurs! When I am back home, I’m usually at the beach, or in Black Creek or the St. Johns River on the boat with my family and friends doing every water sport you can think of!

Defining quote: “Be Strong! Be Fearless! Don’t be afraid and don’t be scared by your enemies, because the Lord your God is the one who marches with you. He won’t let you down, and He won’t abandon you.” - Deuteronomy 31:6

Thank you so much for organizing our night nannies for the past few months. They have been invaluable! Kiley [and the others] were awesome.

My son was a newborn when Kiley began taking care of him. He is three years old now. Kiley was an exceptional help throughout the house. She engaged in activities with my son that helped him learn basic skills, planned and cooked meals for him throughout the day, rocked him to sleep and came up with sleeping schedule for my child. She also cleaned and straightened up the area while he slept. She was constantly engaged with him, making sure he was safe and looked over. She knew exactly how to make him happy and what he needed when he started whining.

I’ve observed Kiley working with children from newborns up to 12 years old. She has taken care of my kids since they were born. She is responsible, entertains them, and it’s obvious she loves kids and my kids adore her.
