/Birthday: January 19th
Hometown: Tallahassee, FL
Favorite Crayola color: Wild Blue Yonder
Background: I’ve been caring for children since I was 16 years old. I started out babysitting for family members, which helped me build a strong foundation in patience, responsibility, and creating a fun, safe environment for kids. Since then, I’ve expanded my experience and now work as a nanny, supporting families with consistent, attentive care.
I’m currently studying psychology with a minor in child development, which allows me to better understand children’s emotional, social, and cognitive growth. I love applying what I learn to real-life situations, whether that’s helping with behavior, encouraging learning through play, or supporting developmental milestones.
I have experience working with children of various ages, including those with special needs. I’m comfortable adapting to different routines and providing individualized care to meet each child’s unique needs. I’ve also helped with tasks such as meal preparation, homework assistance, bedtime routines, light housekeeping, and creating engaging activities that support learning and creativity
On my own, I’ve cared for children as young as: 5 days old
Future plans: Over the next 5–10 years, I hope to continue growing both personally and professionally. I plan to attend graduate school to study Applied Behavior Analysis and become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I’m passionate about working with children and supporting their development in meaningful ways. I also have a long-term dream of owning my own cheer team, combining my love for mentorship, teamwork, and leadership. In the meantime, I’m excited to keep gaining hands-on experience and building strong, positive relationships with the families I work with.
When I'm not babysitting: In my free time, I love staying active by working out and cheering, I’m currently a cheerleader at Florida State University! I’m very passionate about fitness, teamwork, and staying positive. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and traveling whenever I can, as I love experiencing new places and making lasting memories.
Defining quote: “You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated.” - Maya Angelou
“Kierra is a natural when it comes to working with children. She’s patient, attentive, and knows how to meet kids where they are, whether that’s getting down on their level to play, helping them work through their emotions, or keeping them engaged with fun and age-appropriate activities. She has a calm and warm presence that makes children feel comfortable and safe around her very quickly.
What really sets Kierra apart is her intentionality. She doesn’t just supervise kids, she actively creates a positive, structured environment where they can learn, play, and feel supported. She’s dependable, responsible, and communicates well, which makes her someone parents can genuinely trust.
Overall, Kierra brings a strong balance of care, patience, and maturity. She knows how to be both fun and reliable at the same time, which makes her an excellent candidate and a great fit for a Seminole Sitter role.”
“Kierra is really good with kids and it shows in how she interacts with them. She’s very hands on and actually plays with them talks to them and keeps them engaged instead of just sitting back and watching. Kids feel comfortable around her pretty fast because she’s easygoing and has a warm energy.
She’s also really dependable and takes what she’s doing seriously. She pays attention to what kids need and makes sure they’re safe but still having a good time. She knows how to balance being fun and still being responsible.”
