Name pronunciation: A-lean

Hometown: Immokalee, FL

Other language: Haitian-Creole

Favorite Crayola color: Violet Red

Background: I had my first experience babysitting when I was 13 years old when my-sister-in-law and her 8 month old baby moved in with my mom. I have been babysitting ever since. I began tutoring children through a program called Guadalupe Tutor Corps, where I tutored 2nd grade children in the subjects of math, reading, and writing. I did this for 5 years. After that, I began working at the Boys and Girls Club in my hometown. I was also a Youth Development Professional for students going into the 3rd grade. I enjoyed learning about these students, their passions, and their desires. It was a joy to be able to interact with so many different personalities. I was also the Youth People’s Division president at my church, where I led liturgical and mime dance ministry, aided the choral director with the youth choir, and attended conferences associated with the YPD leadership program. At Florida State University, I have been able to continue mentoring youth through an international education program called Peace Jam. It is an international education program built around Nobel Peace Prize Laureates who work personally with youth to pass on the spirit, skills, and wisdom they embody. I have also volunteered at the Palmer Monroe Center. I was previously employed at the Florida State University Childcare and Early Learning Facility where I worked with ages 2-5 years old. Overall, I love to work and play with children and watch them grow as amazing and inspirational individuals!

On my own, I've cared for children as young as: newborn (overnight care)

Future plans:  I’ve definitely set goals for myself that I want to achieve within the next 5-10 years. I plan on graduating from Florida State University and moving on to obtain my master’s degree in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy. I aspire to become a Marriage/Family Therapist, Clinical Therapist, or Premarital Counselor. I would also like to open up my own daycare and early learning facility in my hometown. Whatever I do, I see my future self in my career, doing what I love - improving lives, family dynamics, and relationships for the better, and being an advocate for mental health.

When she's not babysitting: When I’m not babysitting, I am studying/working on school assignments, watching Netflix, and spending time with my friends.

Defining quotation: I can do all this through him who gives me strength. - Philippians 4:13

Aline is excellent with children because she is punctual, responsible, and remains calm in emergency situations. She follows instructions, is intelligent, and whenever she has a question about something, she contacts me instead of guessing things out on her own. She also notifies me of any phone calls and unexpected visitors. She competently prepared my daughter meals, is involved in her academics at school, and my daughter has given her the upmost respect. I have confidence in her maturity level, trustworthiness, and judgment.

Aline was a babysitter for our family for two years. She has always been responsible, punctual, interactive, and seemed to enjoy the time spent with my child. She always manages to interact with them, responds to their needs, and is communicative of any issues that may occur. She has a caring personality and is sociable which allows her to be a spectacular person to work with children and you can be sure that your child will be in good hands. She follows instructions without any problem and was aware of the set schedule set for my child and the various activities she must provide my children with such as bedtime, dinnertime, etc. For all the services and time that she has provided to me and my family, I do consider her apart of our family.
