Background: I am currently finishing up my Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy at Florida State University and will be graduating in the spring of 2018. I grew up in sunny Seminole (near St. Petersburg), where I fell in love with music and joined the marching band in high school. Growing up, my mom was a teacher’s assistant at the local elementary school where she taught pre-k VPK/ESE. In middle school, I began volunteering in her classroom where I learned to work with children who had Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down's syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and other disabilities and medical conditions. I continued volunteering all the way through high school. I started babysitting with friends when I was 11, babysitting younger siblings of my friends, and soon on my own when I was 13. I have also worked as a summer camp counselor, where I taught music and was the counselor of 4th graders.
Future Plans: I hope to complete my internship in St. Petersburg in spring of 2018 to graduate with a degree in Music Therapy and hope to go abroad and teach English as well as music.
When I’m not babysitting: I am usually studying and doing homework or going on adventures around Florida with friends. I also enjoy going camping with my family and playing music with my friends. When I am back home, I am usually helping out with my high school marching band.
Defining Quotation: No artist is ever pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction; a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others. -- Martha Graham to Agnes De Mille
