Background: As the oldest of three girls, it seems as though I’ve been babysitting my whole life! However, it wasn’t until the summer going into high school (2012) that I began caring for children outside of my family when I worked as a camp counselor. Throughout high school, I worked as a tutor for kids as young as kindergarten and as old as 7th grade. I spent my summers as a camp counselor and babysitter for kids as young as 1 year old to 12 years old. I have cared for groups as large as 15, both with the same age and varying ages. This year, I am a senior at Florida State University pursuing a major in Media Communications Studies as well as Psychology and a minor in Entrepreneurship. My hope is to find a way to use my education to either work with kids or for kids in the future!
On my own, I've cared for children as young as: 1 month old
Future plans: In the next 5-10 years I plan on moving back home to Miami and starting a public relations agency or becoming a fundraising manager for a children’s hospital and hopefully making my way around the world as I do so!
When she’s not babysitting: When I’m not babysitting I enjoy spending time with family and helping out with all the new babies! This year you can find me fundraising for Dance Marathon and creating content for the Power of WE at Florida State University!
Defining quote: “To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.“ -Ralph Waldo Emerson
