Background: I’ve always loved kids - even when I was one myself! I’ve been babysitting for more than 8 years. It began as soon as I turned 13 and was old enough to work in the church nursery. I cared for newborns and infants on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. In the summers that followed, I became involved with my church’s vacation bible school. I can remember spending hours planning activities and crafts for children of all ages. I’ve always been crafty, but this became the perfect outlet to put my skills to use. Through the church, I also had the opportunity to volunteer with Nathaniel's Hope - an organization dedicated to serving children with special needs and disabilities. In high school, my love for children extended outside the church when families from all walks of life entrusted me with their kiddos as both a babysitter and a tutor. I am dedicated to helping children learn and grow in fun and safe environments.

She’s cared for children as young as: newborn

Future plans: I am finishing up my senior year as an English major. I’ll be graduating in December, but I plan to stick around Tallahassee for a while to work and focus on building up my photography business. I don’t know what the future might hold, but I know that I have a passion for people. With that, I can do just about anything!

When she’s not babysitting: If I’m not babysitting, I’m probably in my car, on an adventure. I love to travel, experience new things, and journal about it!

My son developed a fantastic relationship with Melissa immediately, and she was very good with him.

I wonder if Melissa is available next Friday to hang out with [our daughter]. They hit it off so well last week and she’s super excited that she’s returning on Monday.

I just wanted to let you know that Melissa is amazing (my oldest son’s words). She was prompt, cordial, and was great with the boys (including our puppy). Can we check her availability first anytime our usual sitter isn’t available? Thanks!!! :)

I just wanted to say how awesome Melissa was. She was so prepared, and even brought crafts for the children. She really seemed to have a great way with the kids.

Just wanted to let you know that Melissa was fantastic!! We had a stressful night heading out quickly and to a work dinner and she not only helped me arrange work gift bags, but also cleaned up after dinner and checked our kids’ homework. That is such a HUGE blessing for a frenzied parent during the week. I hope we have her again soon!
