Ms. Kayla O.

Birthday: January 4th

Hometown: Palm Beach, FL

Favorite Crayola color: Tickle Me Pink

Background: I am currently a student at Florida State University pursuing my Master’s in Social Work. I received my certification in Early Childhood Education and was certified by DCF in 2014. Ever since then, I have worked with children in various spaces and age ranges through babysitting, at summer camps and in preschools. Before relocating to Tallahassee, I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. With my time in Gainesville, I worked at the Baby Gator Child Development and Research Center Facility for two years as a teacher. I also assisted elementary children with homework at the local community center and mentored high school girls.

I have cared for children with Down’s Syndrome and Autism, as well as, those who have special dietary restrictions and allergies.

She’s cared for children as young as: 2 months

Future plans: Upon receiving my master’s in clinical social work I plan to work with children in the Criminal Justice System.

When she’s not babysitting: When I am not indulging my love for crime television shows I love enjoying quiet time with a good book and planning traveling adventures.

Defining quote: “At the end of the day people won't remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel.” – Maya Angelou

Jackie and Kayla have done a fabulous job with [my son] this week! He has a compromised immune system where he is high risk for getting sick and being hospitalized. Everyone has taken great care to take off their shoes in our house and work hard to get him to eat even though his appetite isn’t big. I’m so thankful for your business. My mom usually watches him when I’m at work but Seminole Sitters is my back up.
