Background: Growing up with a younger brother, I have been helping care for younger children ever since I can remember. When I was 13 years old I was babysitting for friends and local families with children ranging from 3 months to 10 years old in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Once I got to High School I had the opportunity to participate in a program called PEPI (Physical Education People Instructors), where I was able to work with special needs children at my own school as well as PreK through 5th grade aged children at my local elementary and middle schools. This was an amazing experience that further increased my knowledge in caring for children ranging from ages 3 all the way to 24(Adaptive Class). Getting to truly connect with the children and make positive impacts on their lives is how I found out that I wanted to be a Pediatric Physical Therapist. In high school, I was also an intern for my mom, she is a 6th grade math teacher, and helped the students with any questions they had during my free periods. At 17 I received a license in Life Guarding, Oxygen Facilitation, Pediatric/Adult First Aid and CPR. I started lifeguarding and continued this the past two summers where I learned to care for children in times of crisis and injury. I am back in Tallahassee for school and I am beyond excited to get started with Seminole Sitters and I cannot wait to get to know you and your family!
Future Plans: I will graduate from Florida State with a major in Exercise Physiology and pursue a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy. I hope to have a job in Pediatric Occupational or Rehabilitation Therapy.
When I am not babysitting: I am very involved on FSU’s campus including Greek Life, National Honor Society, and the National Society for Leadership and Success. Academics are extremely important to me so I spend a lot of my free time either studying or organizing my schedule for the upcoming weeks. My parents have their skydiving licenses so I enjoy going with them when I visit home.
