We pay our babysitters well because they are well-qualified, experienced, educated and deserve to be paid their worth. We feel that happy Sitters mean happy kids!

Our rates start at $12/hour for one child, and $2/hour for each additional child. (We offer discounts to families who regularly schedule a sitter for 30+ hours/week.) There is a fuel surcharge of $3 per playdate within Tallahassee, and $8 per playdate outside city limits - this goes directly to your babysitter. (A "playdate" is our word for babysitting appointments!)

We encourage families to share sitters! The kids love having their friends over to play, and it makes childcare more affordable for parents. We're happy to split the invoice fairly between families, and ask that if you invite a family to share a sitter with you, that that family has also signed up with us as clients prior to your sitter's arrival.

One Sitter can watch up to six children, or four children if there is a child under the age of 12 months present.

On some days, our rate will increase by 50%. This enables Seminole Sitters to pay babysitters time-and-a-half for these days that they spend away from their loved ones, and is incentive for them to be available on days that are typically very high in demand. This equates to a rate of $18/hour for one child and $3/hour for each sibling. The fuel surcharge remains the same. It applies to the full day. These days are:

  • New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
  • Valentine's Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day, the Wednesday preceding it, and Friday following it
  • Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
  • ALL FSU HOME FOOTBALL GAMES

PLEASE BE AWARE: In order to ensure the safety of our staff, we must first meet with your family before sending a Sitter to your home. After this meeting, where you can ask questions and help us understand your needs, you can be considered a client.

We request at least one week’s notice of your childcare needs, and regular schedules are highly favored, though of course, we're happy to serve your one-time needs as well! After all, our motto is, "Date Night is Back!" We do ask that you please reserve last-minute requests for actual emergencies, and not as a solution for poor planning. This helps ensure that all families receive the quality of service that we're known for!

Our most-requested days have been FSU's home football games and New Year's Eve - we cannot guarantee an available sitter on these (or really any) day, but please know we do our best to serve every family. The more notice we have of your babysitting request, the more likely we're able to serve you on high-demand days.
