Ms. Lisa-Marie
Birthday: May 9
Hometown: Bronx, NY (Go Yankees!) and Naples, FL
Favorite Crayola color: Pink Flamingo
Background: I graduated in August 2009 with my Bachelor’s in Social Work. I will be starting the Social Work Master’s program in January 2010, focusing on child welfare. I have been working with children since I was 13, when I volunteered at my church’s summer camp program. Since then I have been a preschool teacher’s assistant, preschool teacher, nanny, and babysitter. I love going home and seeing children who were in my class when they were two years old, and are now in fourth grade. It never fails to amaze me just how fast they grow!
Future plans: After I get my Master’s, I want to continue my education and get licensed so that I can open an office to do play therapy and grief counseling with children.
When she's not babysitting: I’m a huge sports fan and love watching games. I am a diehard Yankees, Giants, Knicks, and FSU fan. I also love reading; it’s actually a bit of an obsession. I am the kind of person who cannot put a book down until I finish it! My best friend and fellow sitter, Ms. Br’Axeton, and I love to read paranormal books like the Fever series, Twilight saga, and the Mortal Instrument series. My roommates also catch me watching the Disney Channel way more than a person my age should! I can’t help it - I love Phineas and Ferb! Ms. Br'Axeton and I can also be found doing the Hoedown Throwdown (a Hannah Montana dance), karaokeing to Miley and Demi songs, or watching Wizards of Waverly Place.
Defining quote: "There must be a thousand girls out there, dreaming the same things as me. But I'm not going to worry about them; I'm dreaming the hardest." - Marilyn Monroe
