Ms. Amy
Birthday: July 2
Hometown: Syracuse, NY
Favorite Crayola color: Dirt
Background: I have worked closely with children since I was eight years old as my neighborhood’s mommy's helper. I have been a nanny, preschool teacher, elementary school tutor, daycare worker, and a mommy to four beautiful children. Throughout my entire four years of high school, I worked with a family of two small children. I picked them up every day from school and stayed with them until bedtime. I also took care of them every other weekend while their parents went on business trips. While working on my AA degree I was the nanny of four free-spirited siblings, two of which were twins. I worked with this large family for over ten years. My life has been filled with children every blessed step of the way!
Future plans: We are saving up to find that perfect piece of land to build on in hopes of one day having an herb farm. I am looking forward to taking many exotic vacations that involve hiking and other exciting expeditions. I would love to learn to speak German, learn to belly dance, and possibly have more children!
When she's not babysitting: I like to watch the Ellen DeGeneres Show, cook vegan soul food, take long walks with my dog, going to Pilate’s class, and read stories to my kids (now they can read to me!).
Defining quote: "You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back." - William D. Tammelus
